Lincoln County was rocked in September of 2016 with the shocking news that two young people were dead as a result of opioid overdoses. C.H.A.N.G.E. was born and the committee has been working hard on awareness and education.  Twice yearly, CHANGE hosts the National Drug Take Back Day as well as providing scholarships for Lincoln County high school seniors in the names of the two young men who overdosed in 2016.  C.H.A.N.G.E. funded a 24-hour prescription drop box located in front of the Ruidoso Police Department.  In addition, C.H.A.N.G.E is partnering with Lincoln County schools to provide impactful education to students on the risks of addiction with opioid use.
