Natural Helpers
Natural Helpers is a peer-to-peer mentoring program. An anonymous school-wide survey comprised of members of the student body identified those students and school adults whom they trust and would turn to for help. Recognizing the ongoing need for this, Natural Helpers was born. These trusted students and adults are invited to attend training sessions where they can acquire listening skills, learn how to identify when friends need help, compassionately expressing care and concern, and perhaps most importantly, recognizing those situations where young people need professional help and then utilizing the resources and care-providers best suited to the young person's needs.
